I am a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Australian Psychological Society (APS). I have completed a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. I have considerable experience working with children, teenagers and adults with a broad range of clinical presentations. My special interests include:

TREATMENT APPROACH

My treatment approach is based on a solid conceptualisation and formulation and is tailored to the needs of the individual. I practice from a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Previous Training

I have had training and experience in both private practice and Queensland Health. I have undertaken training at Brisbane Private Psychiatric Hospital delivering short-term, intensive treatment to inpatients and outpatients and also children and families at Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS).

Accreditations

Level 4 – Group Triple P Therapist – helping parents to raise confident, happy children through gentle, positive parenting strategies.

* Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) - Please enquire with your General Practitioner about eligibility for a Medicare rebate under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). This plan will enable you to have access to 10 sessions per calendar year and will provide you with a rebate of $137.05. The rebate for School/Home visits is $160.35.

* Private Health Insurance - I am also registered with all major Private Health Funds. With Private Health insurance, you may be eligible for a rebate of the consultation fee - please enquire with your fund for an estimate of your individual refund. You will be responsible for all claiming under private health insurance.

* NDIS - Dr. Monique Geeves also accepts patients under NDIS (please enquire for more information).
